Innocence, why do we lose it so early, is it because we are exposed to the dirt which blows around almost anywhere. Or is it because, we have this dirt encrypted within us, as we are human beings. How good it is not to know things and live in a world which is full of imagination, where we can create our own pictures and make all the necessary changes without any interruption. It is quite amazing, that we never get to know, when was it that we really lost our innocence, suddenly, one day we realise, it is not the same me. "I have changed", and we all know that this change is going to make us more vulnerable, prone to a life which keeps on sucking our blood at all the intervals. The problem is once lost, we never get that innocence back, it is even worse than a lost love affair, there is absolutely no replacement and also no escape from this ultimate truth.

I hate innocence, because I see none of it. Innocence is a smokescreen which the most shrewd person puts around itself.
Innocence died ages ago...there are only smart people, who know hoe to 'use' innocence...
But, I also want to ask the writer, Atanu, why do we change....why should we change...and do we really change ever?
Or is that change only on the surface, and deep down there where the heart and soul meet, we are the same, unhappy because of the change on the surface and then the inner 'I' revolts against the outer I and we become insane...remember that friend who left for hills?
I believe that innocence prevails in everybody and we human beings use it only with the person whom we trust. Innocence and trust goes hand in hand and by trust I mean, that you don't have to think anything before saying. And there are still such relationships which exists, u may beg to differ, but I would agree only because I would want to see the glass half full.
Now to the second comment, I agree that we hardly change and it is only in the surface that we show the change. But that has got nothing to do with innocence. The friend you are referring to, although we stay far off, the momemnt we speak I can feel that innocence and I hope it is vice versa.
The conflict is always going to be there, and we are living it because we know that we have no way out. I believe that we are already insane in some way or the other
